Rio Ferdinand has slammed the English Football Association for refusing to mount the required pressure for Harry Kane to wear the OneLove armband at the World Cup.

Ferdinand slammed the FA for ‘folding like a pack of cards’ and watched their plans for Harry Kane to wear the armband drift away.

England was one of seven countries that planned to wear the armband in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

The world football governing body, FIFA, had warned that a yellow card would be given to any captain that wears the armband, insisting that the message it carries is ‘political.’

“They’ve had one bump in the road and they’ve all folded like a pack of cards,” Ferdinand said on the BBC.
