The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mamman Dauda, has solicited the cooperation of the state Commissioner for Justice, Musa Lawan, in the speedy prosecution of criminal cases in the state.

The CP made the call when he paid a familiarisation visit to the Attorney-General’s office on Monday.

The police boss expressed his desire and commitment to fighting criminal activities in the state.

He said, “I am here to introduce myself as the 44th Commissioner of Police of Kano State Command and having realized the importance of the Judiciary in the fight against crimes and criminality.

“And as our immediate neighbor in the administration of the criminal justice system, I deem it necessary to pay you a courtesy visit to appreciate you for the assistance, cooperation, and understanding, and seek more collaboration.

“When I assumed duty as Kano State Commissioner of Police, I met a good structure of policing which we plan to improve.

“We need your cooperation to succeed in the prosecution of criminal cases. If we come together and work closely, we will understand ourselves more.

“The 2023 general election is fast approaching, and we need your support to ensure peaceful processes. We are 100 percent ready to work with you to sanitize the general public.

“And we are very much ready to help you to succeed. We need your total support to achieve a more secure environment.”

Responding, Lawan promised to support the Commissioner in discharging his duties to enable him to succeed.

“I have been working with Police and they deserve all sorts of commendations. We will always cooperate with the police and continue with the existing cordial relationship,” he said.
