The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Oyo South Senatorial District, Olugbade Ojelabi, is dead.

Ojelabi, who hailed from Anko area of Eruwa in Ibarapa East Local Council of Oyo State, died yesterday at the age of 59.

Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, who confirmed the death in a statement, said the news of the death was devastating and a great loss to Eruwa town.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has described the late Ojelabi as a true party man whose contributions would be missed by the party.

The governor, who expressed his condolences to the immediate family of the deceased and the PDP family in the state, prayed God to repose his soul.

Makinde, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant (Print Media), Moses Alao, said Ojelabi gave his best for the progress of the party and that his death would leave a huge vacuum in the party, especially as it came at the height of electioneering towards the 2023 general elections.

The governor equally commiserated with the people of Eruwa and the Oyo South Senatorial District PDP, praying the Almighty to grant repose of his soul.
