President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the multi-billion naira Yobe international cargo airport in Damaturu.

Buhari who arrived in the state from Yola was flanked by President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, Minister of Power Abubakar Aliyu and governors of Yobe and Borno states among others.

The airport, which is named after the President, is now to be known as Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport, Damaturu.

The airport is one of the legacy projects lined up for commissioning on Monday 9th January 2023.

Other projects executed by the Gov. Buni administration and are waiting to be inaugurated by the President include an estate with over 3, 000 houses, four modern markets and a 300-bed capacity maternal, newborn and child health complex, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
