.As Chief Iwuanyanwu, Nlemigbo, Others Support Move
The apex socio-political group in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Federal constituency, Mbaike People’s Assembly over the weekend revalidated the zoning system in the State and Federal executive and legislative arm of leadership.
The event which took place at the Chief Iwuanyanwu oriental plaza glass house, Ugwuorji, Orji Owerri witnessed the presence of top political leaders and technocrats including an Elder Statesman of Igbo extraction, chief Engineer Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo), the leader of the Assembly chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo (Marcon), chief charles (Chavon) Amadi and other stalwarts.
Aside the revalidation of the zoning system the Mbaike Peoples Assembly charted a new course that will be beneficial to the people of Mbaike.
Speaking during the event, Chief Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo) said a crucial committee scheduled to commence work in the Peoples Assembly will focus on important areas such as education and liaise with the government to bring the dividends of democracy down to the people of Mbaike for the benefit of her citizens. In the wake of the devaluation of the naira, chief Iwuanyanwu said every available land must be cultivated in Mbaike, and sole administrators must be involved in the development strides of Mbaike Peoples Assembly.
Chief Iwuanyanwu said, “Zoning in politics is a normal thing, this is to make sure everyone or area gets the dividends of democracy. I initiated it in Imo State and in Nigeria. We must keep to zoning, we did not meet to reverse what we have agreed on. When one person from an area go for 8 years, he must give chance for others, be it Senate, Federal House or Governorship”
Also speaking, chief Marcillinus Nlemigbo (Marcon) said the primary interest of Mbaike peoples Assembly is to help the people of Mbaike, not only giving fish but teach them how to catch fishes, he enjoined Mbaike peoples Assembly members to open more branches nationwide so as to bring the dividends of democracy down to the people
