Ahead of the January 27, 2023 date set for the judgment at the Osun State gubernatorial election petition Tribunal, the State Police Command has assured the general public of adequate security before, during and beyond the judgment.

The Police in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yemisi Opalola on Thursday, revealed that it will work in collaboration with other security agencies in the state.

The Police Command also disclosed that it has put all necessary security measures in place to deal decisively within the ambit of the law with anyone or group of persons who might attempt to foment trouble.

“Therefore, Osun State Police Command is using this medium to appeal to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to stay out of trouble/violence.

“They should not allow themselves to be used by any vicious politicians to cause crisis in the State as the command will not tolerate any kind of thuggery or hooliganism.

“The CP enjoined the good people of the State to go about their lawful daily activities.”

Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has enjoined its members and supporters to continue to embrace peace in their endeavours.

This according to the Osun APC is in expectation of Friday’s judgment by the Osun gubernatorial election petition tribunal.

The Acting State Chairman of the party Tajudeen Lawal in a statement on Thursday also stated that his party had done everything within the ambit of the law to ensure the diligent prosecution of the petition against the respondents.

Lawal enjoined the APC members to continue to exhibit the ethos of genuine Omoluabi which they are known for both at the tribunal and outside the tribunal during the judgement delivery tomorrow.

He also reminded the police and all the other statutory sister security agencies in the state to be proactive in ensuring a water-tight security architecture within and outside the venue of the tribunal tomorrow.

In his words: “Let me show my gratitude to all our members for their show of discipline, exemplary behaviour and their absolute faith in God throughout the period that we have been prosecuting our petition at the tribunal.

“It was because we believe in the potency of prayer that prompted us to carry our petition to God Almighty while those who rely on evil powers and principalities were mocking us. We shall leave our detractors to God to adjudicate,” Lawal stated.
