A Human Rights group in Akwa Ibom State has raised the alarm over the 8.5km Nduetong Oku-Ibiaku Uruan- Ekritam road project reportedly abandoned by the state government.

The Center for Human Rights & Accountability Network (CHRAN), in a press statement signed by its Deputy Secretary, Akanimo Atang alleged the absence of contractors and equipment at the project site, an indication that the project has been abandoned.

The statement said, the group’s State Director, Franklyn Isong discovered the anomaly, during a facility of some outfits along that particular road

He urged the governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel to ensure the completion of the project which he started five years ago before exiting office.

He said, “the project appeared to have been abandoned as there was no sign of anything happening on the road in the past 2 years, no equipment seen on the project site and the contractor is nowhere near the project site during the time of the CHRAN visit to the Taf Media Group.”
