The re-election bid of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has continued to receive a boost, as a non-governmental organisation has urged youths to mobilise support for the governor.
The group, ‘Let’s Talk, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Listens’, held interactive sessions with youths in the Ikeja and Ikoyi areas, in recognition of youths’ unique role in community development and to make their voices heard in the forthcoming elections.
It also visited some schools, including Omole Senior Grammar School, Ojodu; Keke High School, among others, where they interacted with students and teachers, and distributed learning packs to the participants.
The group urged the students to take Sanwo-Olu’s re-election message to their parents and guardians.
During the interactive session, the youths expressed satisfaction with the governor’s first term performance. They lauded his track records in the areas of infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education, housing, environmental protection, among others.
The youths called for more recreational programmes, whereby local sports leagues would be revitalised.
A young computer programmer, Adejumo Ojo, said the governor should focus more on education, healthcare and youth empowerment, if re-elected.
Also, a graduate of Mathematics, Afeez Sekiri, said: “Governor Sanwo-Olu has improved road, rail and water transportation, boosted agriculture with the recent commissioning of an ultra-modern rice mill.”
In the same vein, Moses Ayodele, 20-year-old undergraduate, re-echoed the need for the governor to make local councils more functional in road rehabilitation, sanitation and curb the menace of miscreants in Lagos.
In the same vein, Miss Anna Ejiofor, a point of Sale (POS) operator, urged the governor to intensify the war against drug abuse among youths.
