Last week, the ambiance of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka witnessed a series of events at the Post-graduate level.

The events were organized to prepare the Post-graduate students on the relevance of their studies as a researcher and an academic.

The Public speaking and speech writing was held on the morning of Monday, 6th February 2023, at the Odili Post-graduate lounge, UNN.

This was organized by the office of the Public Relations Officer of the Post-graduate Hall Government, Mercy Asonye, while the lead speaker was Mr. Emmanuel Dyikuk.

Mr. Dyikuk explained public speaking in detail and its types, approaches, importance, and relevance to the speaker and society. He drew examples from notable speakers in the world.

Afterward, there were hands-on and stage practicals.

The evening of the same day, the Library and Publicity Unit of the Graduate Student Fellowship, GSF, UNN, had training on research and scholarship application. The Librarian, Ngozi Okonji emphasized the need to write quality research for a smooth academic journey.

The lead lecturer, Jibrin Ebenezer gave a detailed lecture on research writing and data sourcing.

His Excellency, Henry Oluwasola, Dr.Faith Mesagan, Chivirter Wendy, and His Excellency, Benjamin Ujevbe formed the panelist in answering the questions on challenges in research writing.

Tuesday, 7th February 2023, commenced the exhibition of the Art Gallery curated by Primrose Ochumba and members of the 10 for 10 Art Society. The exhibition took place at Obiora Udechukwu Art Gallery, Department of Fine & Applied Arts, UNN. It was geared towards re-creating histories and telling stories through paintings. The tour exhibition will last till the 17th of February 2023 and move to some states in Nigeria.

However, as Nigerians prepare for the new election of leaders in February 2023, the Post-graduate Students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka led by His Excellency, Henry Oluwasola have taken the bold step to ensure that everyone gets their Permanent Voters Card, PVC, as part of their civic responsibilities.
