Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, has suggested that his team lost 7-0 against Liverpool in Sunday’s Premier League tie at Anfield because the Red Devils gave too much space to Jurgen Klopp’s side in the second half of the encounter.

Fernandes also insisted Manchester United were ‘really good’ in the first half against Liverpool.

A brace each from Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah, and a goal from Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool the victory against Erik ten Hag’s side.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Fernandes said: “It’s very frustrating, disappointing, sad because it’s a really bad result. We came here with a different mindset before the game.

“The first half was really good, we had a lot of chances. We controlled most of the first half, I think, they did not create that much.

“[In the second half] we tried to go forward and score goals and we lost a bit of balance. We gave too much space away against this kind of team. We have to avoid that.”
