Former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kofo Bucknor-Akerele has made a plea to Labour Party (LP) supporters popularly called ‘Obidients’. Bucknor-Akerele who was Bola Tinubu’s deputy between 1999-2003 begged LP supporters to free the state from the “tyranny” of All Progressives Congress which she said has lasted over 20 years. Bucknor-Akerele made the plea on Wednesday at a press conference in Lagos where she endorsed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the LP governorship candidate.

She hailed the youths for coming out en masse to vote during the Presidential National Assembly elections held last month, stating that freedom has just begun for the state.

“Please come out in your millions. We registered over seven million votes in Lagos State. What happened? We know the figure that they wrote for us is not the correct figure but I beg you all, all of you who have voter cards, come out and free us from the tyranny that we have been undergoing for the last 20 years and more.” She added that Lagos has had “enough of rule by touts, urging the Obidients not to be intimidated by political thugs who might want to harm them.
