The Kwara State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has deployed 950 personnel and equipment for the Easter festivities in the state.
The Sector Commander, Frederick Ade Ogidan disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Thursday by the Sector Education Officer, Basambo Olayinka Busari.
The statement said the personnel include 322 special marshals, 27 patrol vehicles, two power bikes, four Ambulances and a 70-tonne tow truck to monitor all roads during the Easter celebrations.
The Sector Commander has also deployed personnel for traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin township and major cities in the state, during the Easter special patrol scheduled from 6th to 12 April 2023.
Ogidan enjoined motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations such as excessive speeding, overloading, obstruction and the use of phones while driving, among others.
He further cautioned motorists against passenger manifest violation, operation of mechanical deficiency and rickety vehicles as well as lane discipline or routes violation.
The statement explained that to achieve the free flow of traffic and a reduction in road traffic crashes during the festivities, the heavy tow-truck, ambulances and rescue marshals will be stationed along major highways within the state.
