Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has described his victory at the party’s Imo State governorship primary election as divinely orchestrated.

Anyanwu emerged unopposed as the PDP Governorship flagbearer during Wednesday’s primary election conducted in Owerri.

He garnered 802 ‘yes votes’ cast during the election.

Speaking to newsmen at the end of the exercise, Anyanwu reaffirmed his total submission and commitment to the will of God.

Anyanwu urged the party faithful and the people of Imo to “let God finish what he has started.”

“It’s with humility and the greatest sense of responsibility that I accept this divinely orchestrated nomination,” Anyanwu said.

He continued, “I’ll work with you and for you.

“I thank the Almighty God for his infinite mercies and I thank the leaders of our party in Imo for working hard to set the process that has brought about my emergence in motion.

“I pledge to pursue an issue-based campaign that would usher in a people-oriented government.

“Together, we shall achieve the Imo of our dream,” he said.
