The Jigawa State Police Command has warned religious leaders to adopt more security measures at their various worship centres.

Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Effiom Emmanuel Ekot, made the call on Friday in a meeting with religious leaders at the State Headquarters, Dutse.

He said the meetings are to caution the religious leaders to alert their followers to be security-conscious at their places of worship.

He urged them to report any suspicious faces or movement of an individual or group of people to the nearest security outfits for prompt action.

According to him, “the aim is to discuss some sensitive security challenges at Command’s disposal.”

DAILY POST reported that an unknown device exploded in Dutse, the state capital, and injured one person.
