The Association of Imo Entertainers AIE has revealed that the proposed Imo Entertainment Summit which is scheduled for August 26, 2023. will no longer hold on that date.
The event which is themed ‘’Setting the global mindset’, according to the President of AIE, Iheanacho Bernard Viscount, will set the center stage for the change everyone is yearning for in the entertainment industry.
He said that the change became necessary as the planning committee had to come up with some adjustments that will not be able to be implemented within the time available.
“This is our first event and we want to make it memorable. Everyone needs to understand that we are not joking and that is very important for us”
“Thinking global is one way we can save our industry which has actually lost a whole lot recently”
“The goal is to have our members and entertainment practitioners generally understand that there is a global market for everything and then start thinking in that direction”, he said.
Viscount also stated that the event has not been canceled, adding that there is a change of date and venue to ensure the set goals are achieved.
According to him, the new date for the event is Saturday, October 21, 2023, while the new venue is City Global Hotel Owerri, Imo State.
He further stated that any change in speakers will be communicated to members and the general public.
Previously Nollywood actor and poet Chuma Mmeka (T-Char); Singer and on-air-personality Golda C as well as on-air-personality Theodore Chinonso Uba (Nonsonkwa) are among the speakers for the event.
Others are blogger, Chinedu Hardy Nwadike; AIE Founder, Tonygreg Ukaegbu (MC Banana Mouth), with Chizaram Opara billed to be the red carpet host.
