Ahead of today’s protest against the continued absence of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, security operatives have sealed up the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the State.

The operatives of the Department of State Security, DSS, and the Nigeria Police Force sealed the secretariat very early on Monday morning to prevent the planned protest.

DAILY POST reports that Akeredolu, on September 7, returned to Nigeria after a three-month medical leave in Germany.

Since his return to Nigeria in September, Akeredolu has been at his private residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, from where he runs the affairs of Ondo State.

Confirming the development, Kennedy Peretei, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, explained that the party is known for its peaceful and developmental strides in the State.

“We can’t be accused of planning to create a crisis in the state.

“If APC knows where Akeredolu is, they should ask him to come out or resign honorably. It is now clear that the ruling party is afraid of their own shadows having failed to meet the expectations of the citizens,” Peretei said.
