Former Chelsea defender, Frank Leboeuf, has insisted that the club should have signed the likes of James Maddison, James Ward-Prowse and Youri Tielemens during the recent summer transfer window.

Chelsea took their spending over the £1billion-mark under co-owner Todd Boehly since the takeover last year.

The west London club signed several players, including the British record signing of Moises Caicedo from Premier League side Brighton, but didn’t go for Maddison, Ward-Prowse and Tielemens.

“I look at Ward-Prowse and Maddison and they are doing so well. I have no idea why Chelsea didn’t move for either of those,” Leboeuf told CasinosEnLigne.

“They should have phoned me! Why is Ward-Prowse not in the squad? There are a few others, too, like Tielemans and Maddison.

“Chelsea missed out on these players as they could have served Chelsea well.”
