The maiden edition of the Imo Music Festival will put the music industry in the state in a new direction, according to Golda C.
Golda C Njiribeako who is the Administrator of Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria PMAN in Imo State, said the event will create opportunities and help inspire more artists in the state.
She recounted that Imo State has produced a number of stars in the past and setting a foundation that will help talents in the state relive those moments will be a wonderful one.
“We will focus on the need to harness and expose the creativity and potential of Imo artists to the global scene”
“The aim is to provide massive opportunities as well as stage performance skills development of participating artists”, she said.
Imo Music Festival is a partnership program of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria PMAN and Imo State Ministry of Culture and Creative Arts.
The event is expected to run from 2nd to 3rd of December 2023 with assorted performances.
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma is exoected as the special guest of honour, with performances expected from some music lagends and other artists redient within and outside Imo State.
“There will also be lots of side attractions such as cultural dance by the Odenimo Cultural Group, Afro Dance crews from across tertiary institutions in the State, comedy and more”
“Upcoming artists and performers will be given ample opportunity to showcase their talents during the Imo Music Festival 2023 and it is one place we want everyone to come enjoy themselves”, she added.
Chief Dan Satch of the famous and legendary Oriental Brothers Int’l Band; Obed Ihiasota of the Mesa ma ahu fame; Shama Melody; Nd Arabanko; Koko Nwa Jesus; Johnny Uzo and Holyman are exoected to perform at the event.
Others include Mayor Mike, Scaps, Allowance, Bishop Onye Ahia Rod, Osisioma Jesus, amongst others.
