Manchester United’s disastrous season in Europe has come to end following a 1:0 loss to German Champions Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
United who never looked like winning the game needed a number of probabilities to advance to either the Champions League knockout stage or the Europa League.
They needed second and third placed Copenhagen and Galatasaray respectively to draw in Denmark, while they will have to win Bayern at Old Trafford.
Contrary to their plans, Copenhagen beat Galatasaray at home, while Man United were beating by a Bayern team who played with less intent.
Manchester United will have to wait till next season, having surrendered 8 points from winning positions in Champions league this season.
Manchester United’s next game will be at Liverpool and they will be without captain Bruno Fernandez with defender Harry Maguire also a doubt after picking a groin injury during the Bayern game.
