Gombe based outfit Doma United will enjoy being at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League after beating Heartland FC with a lone goal.

The game which was decided by a 42nd minute goal by Nelson Abiam will see Doma United top the table through Christmas.

They have 28 points having won eight out of their first 15 games of the season, Goma have played one game ahead of Remo Stars and Lobi Stars who both have 26 points and could catch up if they win their 15th game of the campaign.

Their next game will be away at Sunshine Stars two days after Christmas.

Heartland FC however will look forward to getting back to winning ways when they host second placed Remo Star in what will seem to be a strong test for them.

Heartland FC remained in 18th position after getting only 13 points from 15 games and possible 45 points.
