Police in Imo State have paraded His Royal Highness Eze  Anozie Augustine Agbarambo for allegedly sponsoring IPOB armed group Eastern Security Network ESN. . 

Eze Agbarambo who is the traditional ruler of Mgbidi in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State was arrested after a confession by an ESN commander who was arrested earlier by men of the command.

The ESN commander Ikechukwu Uba was arrested by the operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad on Wednesday December 20, 2023 with three others.

According to a police statement, he confessed to leading a number of operations including an attack  on Omuma Police Station, soldiers at Mgbidi and Awo-Mmama, 

The statement also has it that the Uba was receiving funding from Finland based Simon Ekpa and then Eze Anozie Augustine Agbarambo. 

Two locally made revolver long guns, one double barrel long gun, and 33 rounds of live Cartridges were recovered from the home of the traditional ruler during a search conducted by the police.

Police say  the suspects will be arraigned in court upon completion of  investigation.

The Imo State Police Commissioner CP Aboki Danjuma informed imo people that the Command has placed enhanced proactive security strategies that will ensure the entire length and breadth of the State is adequately policed during and after the Yuletide season.

The police also paraded kidnap suspect Sylvester Humble who confessed to being among a gang that has been terrorizing the Nekede and Ihiagwa axis of Owerri West LGA of Imo state. 

He promised to assist the Police in the arrest of his cohorts whose whereabouts are unknown.
