Two second half goals gave Remo Stars the needed three points to ensure they top the Nigerian Professional Football League NPFL table at Christmas.

The hosts who bounced back from a previous defeat away to Kano Pillars had Sikiru Adewale Alimi and Adams Olamilekan Alade score two late goals to give them the needed lift to the top of the table.

Remo Stars threatened through the first half with nothing to show for it.

Lobi Stars were resilient and fought through to almost the end of the game until Sikiru Adewale Alimi scored at the 90th minute to break the hearts of the visitors.

Adams Olamilekan Alade grabbed the second for Remo Stars in added time to seal the victory that will carry them through the busy schedule of the festive period.

Remo Stars will be away to struggling Heartland FC who are 18th on the log and an away victory will further cement their title bid in the NPFL table where the difference between the first three teams is three points.
