For someone whose first single was released in 2008, music should have been none of his options, but Chukwuemeka Justice Oguzie popularly known as Musically Mjay said his bouncing back.
Having raked a total of three singles since then, Musically Mjay said he has found reasons to quit music, but keeps coming back because it is part of him.
“ Sometimes I don’t want to do music, but it’s like not living at all. It’s as if music is printing in my DNA”, he told OtownGist.
“It’s in me, and even when I seem to walk away, It’s always following me like my shadows” he said.
Mjay as he is fondly called had two singles in 2023, a year he has used to reinvent himself.
The singer said that coming back feels like home, adding that a lot has changed, but he is not coming from a strange planet.
“A lot has changed, but I’m here now and we’re doing it”
“The new generation wants something different and they are also consuming differently. It won’t be a problem for me because even I have not been releasing songs, music has always been a part of my everyday life”
“2023 is over and I have to take some positives and do things better next year. I will be coming out bigger and better. Thisis a promise” he added.
Mjay who hails from Obinze in Owerri West LGA of Imo State, said his next single will be coming in February 2024, refusing to reveal what the real project for next year would be.
He said it would be good to have an album or EP, but said that the most important thing is to get good songs out there.
