At least five people have died and more than 30 others been rescued after a boat accident in Nigeria.
The boat capsized on Sunday along the Niger River in the south-eastern Anambra state.
Authorities are still conducting investigations to determine the cause of the accident, the state’s police spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga told local media.
Boat accidents are frequent in Nigeria, often due to poor maintenance and weak safety practices, including overloading of vessels with goods and passengers.
