The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, on Friday announced another power interruption at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA.

FAAN made the announcement to avoid the controversy that followed the three-minute power outage that occurred at the International Airport about one week ago.

The spokesman of FAAN, Obiageli Orah, said the latest outage would only last for a few minutes.

Posting on their website, the agency said they were testing their power equipment to ensure it functions properly, hence the power outage.

The message said: “To serve you better, we’re testing our power equipment at Murtala Muhammed International Airport today. This means the power will be off for a short time this afternoon.”

Recall that travellers had berated President Bola Tinubu’s administration over a power outage at the International Airport.

A viral video making the rounds on social media had narrated how travellers and others at the airport experienced a blackout on Friday night, leaving them in darkness for some minutes.
