The people of Takum local government council of Taraba are counting their losses following the wind storm that wreaked havoc in several parts of the area on Tuesday.

The windstorm which was followed by a heavy downpour that lasted several hours, led to the massive destruction of houses.

Areas badly affected in the council, include Angwan Rogo, and Cameroon quarters to mention but just a few.

At the time of filing this report, business activities have been brought to a standstill as the people are still taking stock of their destroyed homes and other valuables.

Some of the victims who bared their minds to our reporter, said the wind storm which was subsequently associated with heavy rainfall, blew off the roof of over fifty houses.

They called on the North East Development Commission, NEDC, to assist them with relief materials.

Piqued by the development, the state governor, Dr. Agbu Kafes, has sent a delegation to the local government to evaluate the level of damage caused by the windstorms.

The delegations include the Commissioner, Ministry of Transportation Development, Yakubu Samaila Yakubu, Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, among others.
