Former Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Special Duties, Nze Chinasa Nwaneri, has been apprehended by a special team of police detectives in Imo State.

Nwaneri, who was a trusted aide to Governor Uzodimma for over fifteen years, was arrested at the RockView Hotel in Owerri on Saturday and subsequently taken to the State Police Command headquarters.

Sources indicate that Nwaneri was escorted back to his hotel room where a thorough search was conducted before being returned to police custody. The precise reason for his arrest remains unclear as of the time of this report.

However, according to a statement released by the Imo Police Public Relations Officer, Nwaneri, along with the President of ISAMATA and three others, were detained over allegations including malicious damage, fraudulent activities, obtaining money under false pretense, and illegal use of government power/authority to harass, intimidate, and frustrate the citizens of Imo State.
