The leadership of Imo G-7 has initiated a strategic move aimed at bolstering the support base of the APC in Imo State.
The group, comprising notable political figures, has embarked on a mission to attract thousands of former members of the Imo PDP who recently departed from the party.
In a pivotal step towards achieving this objective, the Imo G-7 delegation paid a visit to Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo (OZB) at his residence in Owerri.
The closed-door meeting, attended by key members including Sir Martins Ejiogu and Hon. Ray EmeaƱa, emphasized the importance of Hon. Ozurigbo’s political influence and his alignment with the APC’s vision for the state’s progress.
Speaking to journalists following the meeting, Hon. Ray EmeaƱa highlighted the significance of rallying Imo’s best minds and talents behind Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.
He underscored the G-7’s commitment to accelerating the development of Imo State by integrating esteemed individuals into the APC fold.
Furthermore, EmeaƱa, a former State Secretary of Imo PDP, shed light on the internal turmoil within the party, attributing its breakdown to a combination of factors including legal complications and internal discord.
He commended Hon. Ozurigbo’s decision to sever ties with the PDP, applauding his courage in the face of adversity.
Looking ahead, the G-7 plans to expand its outreach to additional former leaders and members of Imo PDP, aiming to convey a message of hope and progress under the APC banner.
The group’s efforts signify a pivotal moment in Imo State’s political landscape, with the potential for a significant influx of defections into the APC ranks.
