Today, the Imo State Police Command held a briefing to announce notable achievements by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

Over the past months, several operations have led to the apprehension of individuals involved in various criminal activities. Here’s a summary of the key incidents:

  1. Armed Robbery/Kidnapping/Murder: Isaiah Chukwu Enoch, along with his gang, was involved in the kidnapping and murder of Maduabuchi Vitus Anyom, Chibuike Nlemadim, Akachukwu Ikechukwu, and Chukwubisi Iyam, and dispossessed them of their vehicles. The suspect has confessed to these crimes.
  2. Cultism/Internet Fraud/Ritualism/Murder: Nnamdi Uzoanya, Chibueze Franklyn, Olisakwe Anaekwe, and others were involved in the murder of Harrison Eduje for initiation purposes, alongside internet fraud and ritual practices.
  3. Cultism: Francis Ndukwu was arrested for cultism and suspected membership in proscribed terrorist groups.
  4. Terrorism/Arrest of IPOB/ESN Members: Ikechukwu Nwabugwu, Nnaemeka Nwabube, Okoro Destiny, and others were arrested for involvement in terrorism-related offenses, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and malicious damage to government facilities.
  5. Kidnapping/Murder: Okorie Isaa Anthony, Ezenwanne Peace Anthony, and Hope Chigbumkpa Nnamdi, operators of Point of Sale (POS) systems, were arrested for assisting kidnappers by receiving ransom payments.
  6. Arrest of Serial Armed Robbery Suspects: Anayo Nwabueze and Sylvester Onyeugo were apprehended for multiple armed robbery attacks.
  7. Terrorism/Armed Robbery/Kidnapping and Murder: Azubuike Onwuasonye, a member of IPOB/ESN, was arrested for his involvement in various criminal activities, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and murder.
