In a swift and commendable operation, the Owerri Urban Area Command Headquarters successfully apprehended two individuals suspected of burglarizing a shop at POWA’s Plaza, Rapour junction, Amakohia.

The suspects, identified as Usman Suleman from Kano State and Mohammed Ibrahim from Zaria, Kaduna State, were caught following a prompt response to a distress call received from a vigilant citizen on 03/05/2024 at approximately 0300hrs.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the perpetrators attempted to flee but were pursued and captured by the determined police operatives, while others managed to evade capture by escaping into nearby bushes. As a result of the operation, a significant quantity of stolen goods was recovered, valued at over two million Naira.

The recovered items include a variety of electronic appliances such as solar panels, plasma TVs, standing fans, Bluetooth speakers, and kitchen appliances, among others. Additionally, various tools and equipment used in the burglary were seized by authorities.

The recovered items have been returned to the rightful owner, Mr. Idika Uchechukwu, after proper documentation.

Meanwhile, the apprehended suspects are currently undergoing thorough investigation procedures and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, commended the timely action of the informant and urged residents of Imo State to utilize the Command’s emergency lines to report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
