The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, as reported by Newsmen. This decision was made during a virtual executive meeting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Friday.

Originally scheduled for the summer of 2025, the tournament dates were shifted due to the expanded FIFA Club World Cup occurring in the same period.

The draw for the 2025 AFCON is set to be held next month in Johannesburg, South Africa, while the qualifying matches are scheduled to run from September to October 2024. Morocco has been selected as the host nation for the competition.
