In a tragic turn of events, Imo State Police Command has arrested 27-year-old Oluchi Nzemechi for the fatal stabbing of her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, aged 31, following a heated argument over the proceeds of internet fraud.

According to the police report, the altercation arose on June 2, 2024, when Kelechi failed to share his alleged 250 million Rupiah haul from an internet scam targeting a victim in Indonesia. During the confrontation, Oluchi reportedly stabbed Kelechi with a kitchen knife, resulting in his death.

In a bid to mislead investigators, Oluchi wrote a threatening note and placed it on the deceased’s body before fleeing the scene. The couple had been living together since 2019 and share a child.

The police, through diligent investigation, tracked and apprehended Oluchi. She has confessed to the crime and is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department. Authorities are working to recover the fraudulently obtained funds for possible restitution to the victim.

The case is poised for court arraignment as the investigation continues.
