In preparation for the 2024 United Nations’ Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Imo State command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched a vigorous campaign against drug abuse and trafficking. The campaign, themed “The Evidence is Clear, Invest in Prevention,” included a sensitization road walk aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.

The road walk began at 8:45 a.m. from the command’s headquarters on Aba Road and proceeded through key areas including Douglas Road (Mbaise Road), Fire Service (Wethedral Road), and concluded back at Aba Road by 11:20 a.m.

State Commander of Narcotics, Abdullah Saeed, praised the officers for their participation and commitment to the campaign. He encouraged them to continue upholding the NDLEA’s mission and to act as role models in promoting the anti-drug message throughout the community.
