Operatives from Shell Camp Divisional Headquarters have arrested a suspected armed robber, Ogochukwu Favour David, during a routine patrol on the morning of June 13, 2024, along Bank Road in Owerri.
The officers spotted a group of hoodlums robbing a young woman and quickly intervened, apprehending the suspect while the others fled. A search of the suspect revealed a locally made pistol. Efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining suspects and identify the manufacturer of the weapon.
The suspect is currently under thorough investigation and will face court proceedings.
The Commissioner of Police praised the officers for their swift action and urged them to maintain their vigilance in combating violent crime. He also called on the residents of Imo State to continue supporting the police and other security agencies by providing information that can help keep the community safe, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility.
