Popular social media influencer and blogger, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has been released from police custody after meeting his bail conditions on Monday.

While specifics of the bail terms remain unclear, a viral video on social media platform X showed Verydarkman walking free and reuniting with his fans.

Previously, Verydarkman faced arraignment at the Federal High Court in Abuja, charged with five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the court proceedings, his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, requested bail. However, the police prosecution team asked Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon for more time to respond to the application, leading to an adjournment of the bail hearing to May 29.

The prosecution sought to have Verydarkman remanded in prison, but his legal team successfully argued for his detention in police custody instead. Following the court’s decision, he was held at the National Cybercrime Centre before his recent release.
