Nollywood actress Sharon Ooja, who tied the knot with her partner Ugo Nwoke in Abuja on Thursday, has opened up about her brief yet profound journey to marriage.
In an interview with Bella Naija, Sharon revealed that Ugo proposed to her after just two and a half months of dating. She explained that her sister introduced her to Ugo, and despite her initial reluctance, they formed a deep connection.
“My love story is nothing short of miraculous,” Sharon began. “I had just recovered from what I thought was the worst heartbreak of my life. I was busy filming when my sister mentioned that a friend of hers wanted to talk to me. Initially, I wasn’t interested. I didn’t want to talk to anybody. But she gave him my number anyway.”
She continued, “He turned out to be really smart, and I was intrigued. We didn’t talk much at first, but he kept trying to reach out. His persistence was impressive. Eventually, we started having these cute conversations, and one day, we talked for about three hours. That conversation struck a chord with me. I thought, ‘I think I like this guy.'”
Sharon recounted a moment that made her realize her feelings for Ugo. “I traveled and noticed he hadn’t called me in two days. I found myself wondering why. When I asked him, he said he didn’t want to disturb me since I mentioned I was going out to have fun. That’s when he told me he didn’t want me to be single anymore.”
The couple’s whirlwind romance quickly progressed. “We dated for just two and a half months before he proposed, and we got married two months later,” Sharon concluded with a smile.
