A 300-level Computer Science student from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, Naja’atu Salisu, tragically passed away after an accident in the bathroom on Friday morning.
Naja’atu was preparing for her day, having entered the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus for a morning shower. However, she was later found unconscious on the bathroom floor.
According to a roommate who chose to stay anonymous, Naja’atu had completed her morning routine and set out her clothes for class, which were left beside her bed.
ATBU spokesperson Zailani Bappa confirmed the incident, explaining that she was first taken to the university’s clinic but, unfortunately, no vein could be found for treatment. She was then transferred to the Trauma Centre at the university’s Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Naja’atu has been laid to rest according to Islamic traditions, and prayers have been offered for her soul.
