Mohammed Isah has been arrested by the police in Niger State for allegedly stabbing his friend, Nurudeen Nuhu, to death following a dispute over a mobile phone. The tragic incident took place in the abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village, Minna.

Reports indicate that the altercation occurred on Sunday morning. During a physical fight between the two friends over the mobile phone, Isah allegedly stabbed Nuhu in the stomach with a knife. Eyewitnesses immediately rushed Nuhu to the hospital, but he was later pronounced dead.

Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Niger State Command, confirmed the incident. “It was reported at GRA Division that there was a fight between one Mohammed Isah of Angwan-Biri and Nurudeen Nuhu of Angwan-Daji at the abattoir area, Kwata Tayi village, over a handset issue,” Abiodun stated.

“During the fight, Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen with a knife in the stomach. Police operatives attached to the Division moved to the scene and rushed the victim to the General Hospital, where he gave up the ghost and was confirmed dead.”

Abiodun further confirmed that Mohammed Isah has been arrested and a preliminary investigation is ongoing. “He will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution,” he added.
