Maverick entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has made a heartfelt plea to controversial pastor Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, aka Odumeje, to use his powers to save Nigeria from its current economic turmoil.
Expressing his concerns on social media platform X, Charly Boy highlighted the country’s worsening economic situation and widespread hunger. He urged Odumeje to intervene and help prevent further decline.
“Dear Odumeje, we Nigerians humbly come to you. Please, can you stop the nation from burning? The economy is plummeting, and there is fire catching everywhere,” Charly Boy wrote. “We ask for your power in this desperate time of need. Abeg no mind Dangote, he has plenty of money, so this hunger doesn’t reach him. He doesn’t understand that he should humble himself before the Indabosky. #Naijamatter.”
This plea comes as President Bola Tinubu has rolled out measures to address food insecurity in Nigeria. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, announced a 150-day duty-free import window for essential food commodities. During this period, the government will relax taxes and import duties on wheat, maize, husked brown rice, and cowpeas to alleviate the food crisis.
Charly Boy’s appeal underscores the urgent need for collective action and support to help Nigeria navigate these challenging times.
