The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) is mourning the tragic loss of a first-year student, Favour Okenyi, whose lifeless body was discovered in a drainage near Akanu Ibiam Stadium on Friday, July 5. Favour, a student of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, was found within the university premises, leaving the community in deep shock and sorrow.

UNN’s Acting Public Relations Officer, Okwun Omeaku, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement issued on Sunday in Nsukka. The university is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Favour’s death to uncover the truth and ensure justice is served.

“The university community is profoundly shocked and saddened by the untimely death of this young student. We are conducting a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for this evil act,” said Omeaku.
