Manchester United are intensifying their efforts to secure the services of Victor Osimhen, with reports indicating that they are preparing a player-plus-cash offer for the 25-year-old Napoli striker.
Osimhen, who has attracted interest from clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG, remains a target for United, according to CalcioNapoli24. The Red Devils are reportedly willing to include striker Rasmus Hojlund in the deal along with a cash sum, although Napoli’s response to such an offer remains uncertain.
Hojlund, who joined United last season, made a promising debut in English football, raising eyebrows with his performances. His potential departure would be surprising given his status as a talented Danish international with a promising future, potentially key to United’s future plans.
Despite being Napoli’s top scorer for the past two seasons, including their 2022/23 Scudetto-winning campaign, Osimhen is reportedly available for transfer this summer. Having excelled in Serie A, the Nigerian forward is said to be eyeing a move to the Premier League to further challenge himself.
Last season, Osimhen extended his contract with Napoli, setting his release clause between €120m and €130m, which has proven prohibitive for potential suitors. In response, Napoli has lowered their asking price to around €100m to facilitate a potential transfer.
While clubs like Chelsea, United, and PSG have been linked with Osimhen, no formal offers have yet been made, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Napoli reportedly rejected a bid exceeding €200m for Osimhen from a Saudi Arabian club last summer.
Signed from Lille in 2020 for approximately €75m, Osimhen has established himself as one of the most exciting strikers in global football, showcasing his prowess and potential across competitions.
