A four-storey building in Unity House, Area 11 by Nkwere Street in the Garki area of Abuja has collapsed, leaving an unspecified number of people trapped. The incident occurred on Monday night while the occupants were asleep.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the collapse on Tuesday. She reported that three victims had been successfully rescued from the rubble, and search efforts are ongoing.

SP Adeh stated, “The attention of the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria and FCT Development Control has been drawn to the situation, and their personnel have taken charge of the area for robust management of the scene.”

Emergency responders are actively working at the site to rescue those still trapped.
