During Kylian Mbappe’s presentation at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reflected on the significant moment from 2012 when Zinedine Zidane first invited the young star to Valdebebas.
Expressing gratitude for Mbappe’s decision to join the club after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Perez said, “I know you will never forget that day in 2012 when Zidane welcomed you to our training ground.”
He praised Mbappe’s passion for Real Madrid, which he believes has helped him overcome various challenges. “You are here today because of your desire to be a part of this club,” Perez continued. “Now, you will don the iconic white shirt, a symbol of our 15 Champions League titles.”
Highlighting Mbappe’s achievements, Perez noted, “You won a World Cup at just 18 years old and had an incredible season last year in terms of goals. Thank you for choosing to be here.”
