The Plateau State Police Command has arrested Suleiman Yakubu, a TikToker known as “Dam-Mallam68,” for allegedly inciting violence in a video clip related to the upcoming nationwide protest scheduled for August 1.

The video, which has gone viral, features Yakubu urging the public to attack security personnel and to destroy critical infrastructure in Plateau State as part of the protest’s activities.

According to DSP Alfred Alabo, the police apprehended Yakubu in Jos North, Plateau State, following a tip-off. The suspect admitted to being the individual in the video during interrogation.

In a statement, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, condemned the incitement and vowed to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace in the state. He emphasized the importance of maintaining order before, during, and after the protest.

The police are urging residents to abide by the law and avoid making statements that could endanger public safety. The arrest underscores the authorities’ commitment to preventing any potential violence associated with the protest.
