Former Liverpool midfielder, Didi Hamann, has claimed that Real Madrid’s recent UEFA Champions League triumph was due to the efforts of four key players – Andriy Lunin, Toni Kroos, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo – rather than Jude Bellingham.

Hamann criticized Bellingham’s on-field demeanor and suggested that the young England midfielder’s attitude might be problematic.

“Jude Bellingham, at the moment, is heading down the wrong path,” Hamann remarked in an interview with TopOffshoreSportsBooks. “He has made several questionable comments, including remarks about a referee in Germany for which he was fined but should have been banned.”

Hamann also pointed to Bellingham’s reaction after scoring a last-minute goal against Slovakia during Euro 2024. “He stood there saying, ‘Who else?’ Now, I’d like to know what his teammates think, because there are ten top-class players next to him,” he added.

While acknowledging Bellingham’s strong start at Real Madrid, Hamann argued that he faded during the critical stages of the Champions League. “He had a good first half of the season at Real Madrid, but in the quarter-final, semi-final, and final, he was nowhere to be seen. They won the Champions League because of Andriy Lunin, Toni Kroos, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo – not because of Bellingham.”
