Mustapha Osama, a 300-level student of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), lost his life during a failed robbery attempt in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The incident happened on Friday night around 8 PM along the Gudi-Akwanga road.

Sources revealed that Osama was hit by a bullet fired by the gunmen while he was driving. Despite immediate intervention by operatives of the Nigeria Police, who responded swiftly to a distress call, the young student could not be saved.

Osama was laid to rest on Saturday morning in Doma, in accordance with Islamic rites. His untimely death has left his family and the university community in deep sorrow.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the quick response of the police helped thwart the robbery attempt, although it came too late to save Osama’s life. This incident highlights the increasing security challenges in the region and the urgent need for effective measures to ensure the safety of citizens.
