Gabriel Agbonlahor, the former Aston Villa striker, has predicted that Liverpool will secure a top-four finish under their new manager, Arne Slot, for the upcoming Premier League season.

Liverpool, who finished third last season behind Manchester City and Arsenal under Jurgen Klopp, have now appointed Slot to lead them for the 2024/25 campaign. Klopp’s departure after the 2023/24 season marked a significant change for the club.

In a recent discussion on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor expressed his belief that Liverpool will not contend for the Premier League title this year. “I still think Liverpool will finish in the top four. I don’t see them challenging for the title just yet. It’s Slot’s first season, and if he manages to challenge for the title, it would be an exceptional achievement,” Agbonlahor said.

Agbonlahor also anticipated that Manchester City and Arsenal would be the primary contenders for the title, suggesting that Liverpool’s focus will be on securing a strong position in the top four rather than mounting a title challenge.
