Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended two individuals involved in a heinous act of burying a man alive in Zaria. This arrest followed after a distressing video surfaced online, prompting immediate police action.

According to the command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, the police swiftly responded to the viral video, which led to the rescue of a 20-year-old man from an uncompleted building where he was found partially buried. The suspects, identified as siblings, allegedly committed this act over a stolen cellphone valued at N35,000, which they believed the victim had taken.

The investigation revealed a tragic tale of mistrust and retaliation where the suspects and the victim, all laborers at a construction site in Abuja, had a falling out over the missing phone. The suspects decided to dock the victim’s wages to replace the phone, prompting him to flee to Zaria. The suspects followed, resulting in the cruel act.

After the victim was located by the suspects on August 10, they forcibly took him to the uncompleted site, bound him, and buried him alive, leaving only his head exposed. His muffled cries for help were eventually heard by a passerby, who alerted the public leading to his rescue.

The suspects confessed to their crime upon arrest, and the police have assured that the case will undergo a thorough investigation, emphasizing the importance of legal proceedings in handling disputes.
