The Imo State Police Command has successfully apprehended three individuals linked to various robbery incidents, including 23-year-old Elijah Chigemezu, known for snatching phones at gunpoint. The arrests were made through a combination of intelligence-led operations and the support of local vigilantes, showcasing the command’s commitment to combating crime.

Elijah was caught red-handed on August 11, 2024, while robbing a young man on Cluster Road, Naze. He was found with a locally made gun and promptly confessed to the crime. John Chukwudi, 27, was arrested on August 14, 2024, on Human Race Hospital Road, Nekede, during a patrol. Found in his possession was a locally made pistol and ammunition. Chukwudi confessed to his affiliation with the black axe confraternity and indicated that his weapon was supplied by an at-large syndicate member.

The third suspect, Chibeze Tasie, 32, was detained in connection with a motorcycle snatching case in Nekede. His confession implicated another accomplice who remains elusive.
