Nollywood veteran Ngozi Nwosu has revealed the harrowing reason she called off her wedding just two days before the ceremony, despite being pregnant. Speaking on the ‘Talk To B’ podcast hosted by Biola Bayo, Nwosu disclosed that her decision was driven by the abusive behavior of her fiancé, who physically assaulted her while she was carrying their child.
Nwosu, known for her candidness, shared that while she might have been able to forgive infidelity, physical abuse was a line she could never cross. “For me, infidelity isn’t enough for you to let go of your man. But, if it’s battery, I advise any woman to, in fact, not take any of their property and run for your life because they will never stop. Once a man lifts his hand on you, he won’t stop,” she said.
The 61-year-old actress recounted the moment she made the life-altering decision, explaining that after enduring a brutal beating just days before their wedding, she realized the marriage would put both her safety and her career at risk. Despite some initial regrets, Nwosu ultimately recognized that walking away was the best decision for her future.
